Welcome to KCS!
I'm Emily Caviggia, Principal of KCS. As an elementary educator for 26 years, I have had the honor of leading the amazingly talented and dedicated staff of KCS for the last 9 years. At KCS, we take great pride in ensuring that we are educating the whole child socially, emotionally, and academically. I'm proud of the varied opportunities that we offer our students which include opportunities for self-driven play, an approach to reading, writing, and math that are hands-on, engaging and developmentally targeted, as well as supporting students in the exploration of the arts, music, and physical education. Science and Social Studies topics are also aligned to standards and embedded throughout our students' day. Be prepared to learn along with your child about such topics as the human body, kings and queens, and early civilizations to name a few! In addition to the quality education that we provide in supporting our students' development, we take great strides to ensure that our school is continually a safe, supportive environment. I truly look forward to working with each of you while fostering a school year filled with learning, growth, and fun.

Welcome KCS Families and Friends! I am Meghan Therrien, the KCS Assistant Principal! I have had the pleasure of serving Killingly Public Schools since the start of my educational career, over 20 years ago. I have taught grades, 1-4 here in KPS, and spent years as a reading specialist and elementary instructional coach between both elementary schools. I have worn many hats, but I must admit my short time in administration, assisting students, staff, and families has been my most treasured experience yet! Mrs. Caviggia and I strive to encourage and instruct our youngest learners as they begin to develop their individual personalities, participate in social interactions with others, and grow their curiosity and love of learning each day at KCS. This means that we are able to celebrate their accomplishments and also instruct them when challenges arise, allowing us to fulfill all of the most important pieces of early childhood education! I am privileged to work with an amazing group of educators here at KCS and look forward to working with your student and family!
